Social Skills Groups

Teaching and Coaching in developmentally appropriate social/emotional skills through intentional and spontaneous activities that are structured to support engagement, communication, and emotional regulation in a way that each child is ready! A natural outdoor space at the farm that fosters a therapeutic environment with animals as a way to foster connection, engage sensory systems to a calm, safe, regulated state in order to receive valuable instruction and coaching! We have opportunities to engage with goats, chickens, cats, bunnies and pigs.

PreK-5th Grade Pricing: 1x a week for 2 hours for 6 weeks= $825.00. A nonrefundable deposit of $100 is due at the time of enrollment.Class sizes range from 4-6 children in a group!

Middle School-High School Groups Pricing: 1x a week for 2 hours for 6 weeks = $725.00 plus additional fees for community outings! 3 weeks are held on the farm and 3 weeks are held at various locations in the community. Class sizes range from 4-10 teens in a group! A nonrefundable deposit of $100 is due at the time of enrollment.

Observation/Consultations

We are available to do observations in the private school setting and/or home and provide consultation regarding behavior management, emotional regulation, sensory strategies, specific social skills, etc. We can also provide consultations for Schools and teachers upon request.
- Observations/Consultations are $95.00/hr and that includes travel. We also provide Google Meet consultations. Written reports are billed at $175.00

Trainings

We offer trainings to schools, churches, preschools and businesses that are specific to your needs. Topics include understanding Autism, ADHD, Sensory Integration, teaching social/emotional skills, behavior management, teaching pro-social play behaviors, understanding and teaching social emotional development and skills, etc.

Itinerant Special Education Support

Building Connections provides in classroom support for children that attend private schools in the Wake County area. We integrate real time coaching for teachers and the child while providing additional support for children that may be struggling in these settings.

IEP/504 Consultation/Coaching

We offer IEP/504 Consultations and coaching to current families in our social skills groups. We help guide and teach parents and caregivers about the IEP/504 process while navigating alongside .

- $95/hr IEP/504 attendance

Our indoor (appropriate for 10-15 people at a time) and outdoor spaces provide a unique and diverse experience for children, families, educators, and professionals. Whether you're planning a homeschool outing, a school field trip, a family-school partnership day, or professional development, we have a space for everyone. Enjoy guided experiences facilitated by our team or explore the space at your own pace.

"Afternoon Connections"

New for Fall 2025: “Afternoon Connections” Afternoon Farm-Based Social & Emotional Learning Program
We’re excited to introduce a new program specifically designed for students participating in alternative learning programs such as modified school days, homeschooling, or blended educational programs. These small-group afternoon sessions focus on supporting social and emotional growth through targeted teaching, coaching, and peer interactions in our dynamic farm setting. This program is thoughtfully tailored to the unique needs of both the group and the individual child, incorporating developmentally appropriate social-emotional learning while reinforcing foundational academic skills through hands-on, nature-based experiences.
Program Information:

- Group Requirements: Minimum of 4 participants to form a group
- Age Groups: K–2 and 3–5

Summer Camps

Summer 2025
PRESCHOOLERS- Preschoolers, play is the foundation of learning! We provide both structured and unstructured, yet guided, opportunities for children to engage in play. Our program includes numerous sensory experiences in nature and with animals, fostering communication, play, and self-regulation skills. We adopt a strengths-based approach, leveraging your child’s abilities to facilitate their growth and learning during their time with us.
K-1 AND 2nd-5th GRADERS: Campers K-1 and 2-5th are ready to delve deeper into the exploration and discovery of nature at our farm! Last summer, we created a life-sized bird’s nest, launched bottle rockets, experimented with various art mediums, retold a story through performance, welcomed a beekeeper, built ant hills, and so much more! Each camp is uniquely designed, as our professional staff plan based on the strengths, interests, and needs of the group!Campers also learn about our animals and how to take care of them through a variety of fun activities!
TEENS: We are excited to offer a unique two weeks of summer camp exclusively crafted for neurodivergent middle and high school students. These weeks will focus on fostering friendship, enhancing communication, and building leadership and confidence in a supportive and nurturing environment. Understanding the complexities of teenage development, our camp provides a safe haven where participants are seen, heard, and empowered to become who they are meant to be! Our program is built on a strengths-based approach, prioritizing trust and relationship-building within our small groups of no more than 10 teens, ensuring personalized attention with a minimum 2:10 staff ratio. Campers will engage in developmentally appropriate games and challenges to encourage collaboration and communication, learn farm-based skills such as animal care and woodworking, as well as enjoy indoor activities such as art, music, and more! STEAM projects will also be integrated throughout the camp! With at least 1-2 community field trips and special guest mentors, teens will expand their knowledge in areas like financial literacy, job skills, and healthy living. Join us for a unique and unforgettable journey of growth and learning in a vibrant, inclusive setting this summer!

- We are equipped to handle any size emotions, which are a natural part of camp life! Our staff is highly trained and knowledgeable about all learners, particularly neurodivergent children. This allows us to provide high quality support so that they have a positive camp experience!
- Highlights include Animal Assisted Therapy with farm animals and hands-on activities across our expansive 12.5-acre farm, featuring woodlands, trails, and creeks.
- Building relationships and trust are critical to the success of our camps! All of our staff are ready to receive your child as they come! Our goal is for campers to ultimately feel safe but also build and nurture skills while having fun so that they have a positive camp experience!
